77 Malignancy Incidence in the Residual Rectum of Ibd Patients After Colectomy: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Abstract Aim The primary objective of this study is to estimate the incidence rectal carcinoma in patients with an Inflammatory Bowel Disease diagnosis, who have had a total colectomy preserving rectum. secondary objectives are identify risk factors associated malignancy occurrence and explore current recommendations for screening processes these patients. Method A systematic review 5 databases was conducted studies adhering PICO criteria. included were critically appraised, relevant data extracted. Malignancy estimated from reported information stratification analysed using RevMan. narrative approach undertaken exploration existing guidelines. Results 24 included. pooled across 23 calculated be 1.3%. Subgroup analysis showed 0.7% 3.2% stump ileo-rectal anastomosis respectively. Patients history colorectal more likely subsequent diagnosis (RR 7.2), similarly dysplasia 5.1). Ten frequent surveillance endoscopy biopsies.
